We still frequent this restaurant, so much, that when my wife starts calling in the order, the lady writing down the order says, this is for MS Paula? We drive past several other Chinese Restaurants to get our food here, and there is a good reason, the food is awesome. Everyone that we have sent here is hooked and will only go here for then on. Their house fried rice is the best, and all their other dishes are great too, but we love their rice. When we buy, we buy enough to last a couple of days, and it is as good the second and third time as it is the first.
They are very friendly and the prices are reasonable, still going after 5 years! -

I used to think I knew what good Chinese food was. I used to eat here and think it was on par with what you'd expect to eat.
However, after getting out and really experiencing other Chinese restaurants (in the Memphis area, alone), I have come to the sad conclusion that Panda China lacks incredibly compared to a number of the better ones around.
It's not that I can put my finger directly on the problem. All I can say is that I know that a number of Asian restaurants get supplies from the same vendors. That being said, the problem then has to be with the kitchen staff.
The food just doesn't have an authentic taste to me. A flavor that brings you back time and time again.
In their defense, they didn't start out that way. It's only been in recent years it seems that the food is lacking. When speaking with others I know who hadn't eaten here in a few months, and went back...they have noticed the same thing. What was once something great, is now just simply...not that great.
I hope they eventually get back to being stellar, but after several different attempts to see if they were improving...they just weren't.
So my recommendation? If it's a last resort, then go in. However, if you have options...I would go elsewhere. -

A typical, reasonably good Chinese restaurant. Food was good but not spectacular. Mongolian beef was a bit tasteless but sesame chicken was bang on. Very friendly and accommodating staff with just a hint of language barrier.

Typical take out Chinese. Five star for Arlington, but don't bash anything there or you will get run out of town.

I have yet to find better Chinese in the Memphis area. I wish they were located closer to where I live because I would come more frequently.
